Our Story
Can Sucak Research Lab for Translational Immunology was established by the Candan Bi'Şeyler Foundation in memory of Can Sucak, who passed away in 2019 due to primary immunodeficiency.
The Candan Bi'Şeyler Foundation is a civil society organization founded by Can's parents with the aim of improving access to genetic diagnosis for patients with inborn errors of immunity in our country, supporting research in the field of immunodeficiency, and increasing public awareness of these diseases.
Our research center was founded under the leadership of Dr. Baran Erman through the "Can'ınız Sağolsun" project supported by TANAP (The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline), in collaboration with Hacettepe University.
Guided by the missions outlined above, the center aims to collaborate with all clinical immunology centers across the country and to help establish advanced research practices in Türkiye that are currently conducted mainly in Western countries. To achieve these goals, our center conducts numerous research projects through both national and international scientific collaborations.
